Submit your complaint
Send an email to contact@giancarlocristea.com with the subject line "Personal data complaint". Please describe clearly: (a) which data or processing activity concerns you, (b) what you believe went wrong, (c) what outcome you are seeking. You may also submit your complaint in writing to: Giancarlo Cristea Psychotherapy, Bournemouth, United Kingdom.
Acknowledgement within 30 days
You will receive confirmation that your complaint has been received within 30 calendar days of submission. If I need additional information to investigate your complaint, I will contact you during this period.
Investigation and response
I will investigate your complaint carefully and respond as soon as possible. The final response will include: (a) the steps taken during the investigation, (b) the conclusion reached, (c) the reasoning behind that conclusion. Where the complaint is upheld, I will also describe any corrective measures taken.
If you are not satisfied with the response
If my response does not satisfy you, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection. ICO contact details are provided below.
Escalation to the ICO
If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, or if you have not received a response within a reasonable time, you may lodge a complaint directly with the ICO:
Professional body complaints (NCPS)
Complaints relating to ethical conduct or therapeutic practice (not personal data) may be directed to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), whose Code of Ethics binds me as a member (membership no. NCS23-02809): ncps.com.
This procedure is implemented in compliance with Section 103 of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA), which inserts Section 164A into the Data Protection Act 2018. The procedure came into force on 19 June 2026.
