Anxiety screening (GAD-7)

The GAD-7 is a short, widely used questionnaire for generalised anxiety: seven questions about how often, over the last two weeks, you have felt nervous or on edge, been unable to stop worrying, felt restless, or found it hard to relax. It is one of the most common anxiety screening tools in research and everyday clinical practice.

This is a self-check you can complete online in about two minutes. You get your score straight away, with a clear, plain-language interpretation and the usual thresholds (mild, moderate, severe). It is a first orientation, not a diagnosis (a formal assessment is always made by a qualified professional), but it can help you see whether what you feel is worth exploring further.

Written from a neurodivergence-affirming stance: the GAD-7 also picks up anxiety linked to sensory or social overload, which is very common for autistic and ADHD adults. Anxiety is treated as a signal from an overloaded nervous system, not a flaw — and looking at more than one instrument (ADHD, autistic traits) can give a fuller picture.

GAD-7

A 7-item screening scale evaluating the severity of generalized anxiety symptoms experienced over the course of the last two weeks.

"What does this mean?" if a question is not clear, tap this under the question for a plain explanation.
"Not sure about my answer" if your answer is only an approximation, mark it. It does not change the score; it just shows where it may help to come back to it.
